The Market Common of Myrtle Beach is built on the former Myrtle Beach Air Force Base. The brainchild of local teen Savannah Thompson, the project gained the support of the city of Myrtle Beach and local businesses, and it has created a safe and magical play place for kids with disabilities. 

Barc Parc South: is a very well thought out dog park with swimming in a large lake and plenty of benches scattered around for everyone to enjoy. Free poop baggies available with trash bins placed all around the pond. Nice walking path. Quiet area and calming feel.

Athletics at Market Common: The Grand Park Athletic Complex features seven large multipurpose fields and two youth fields.  All have synthetic grass and lights and are designed to accommodate a variety of sports, including baseball, softball, lacrosse, soccer and football.  The complex also has a six-tunnel batting cage, plenty of parking and three towers for restrooms and concessions.  Grand Park is adjacent to The Market Common, Crabtree Memorial Gymnasium and a roller hockey rink.  

Valor Memorial Garden: In the heart of the Market Common, is an urban garden that features several historic markers with information about the base, buildings and the men and women that served our country. A kiosk in Valor Memorial Garden gives the history of the signage program, sign location map, and a map of the former MBAFB when active.
